Hello Docents-

You guys are so awesome and you share some great information. Below is a link provided by Randi that may be of interest.

Enjoy!

P.S. I really appreciate how much you have all jumped to take on the plethora of tours that have descended upon us. It is a great help and a boon to the museum!

Jana,

I watched the window washer video and remembered that he'd talked about that painting being a part of a Smithsonian exhibit of the Rockwells in the collections of George Lucas and Stephen Spielberg (sp). Anyway I just spent a fascinating half an hour or so watching a podcast from the exhibit with Lucas and Spielberg talking about their paintings and how Rockwell influenced them as filmakers and why they collect the paintings they do, etc. It was just wonderful. It finished up January 2, 2011. So I thought I'd pass the link on. You should just be able to click on it and go straight to the smithsonian site.

TAM Docents: We need an evaluation pair up!

Hello Docents-

Rose is requesting a fellow docent to pair up for evaluations next month. If you are available, please let her or me know. She has some tours scheduled that are listed below and, you can always make a point of doing a tour too and both finish in one day. It is actually busy enough to do tours without a problem right now!

Thank you,

-Jana

Good morning Jana!

Thanks for that great glimpse into our cloudy yet exciting future! I was hoping for evals you could perhaps pair me up with someone? I'm not sure of everyone's schedules and so I thought you would be the better person to pair me up. In April I have 2 docent led tours April 6th at 3pm and April 20th at 10am.
Thanks so much!
Rose

Hello Docents-
Please note the message from fellow docent Ellen Shigeno below for how
to view the TV segment on the window washer who was here on the first
day of Rockwell training.
Thank you for all that you do for Tacoma Art Museum. I can't say that
too much by my reckoning.

Jana,

Yesterday at TAM KOMO TV was there and on the 5 Pm news they had a piece
on Jim Stafford the window washer. I looked for it on the 6 PM segment
and
it was not on. It was not posted on KOMOTV.com last night so checked
this
morning and it was there. Look up KOMOTV.com and in the search spot type
in Tacoma Art Museum Jim Stafford and you will see the print piece and
the
video. I did let Linda Flatley know and she saw it this morning and also
notified Sharon Berens as she was also there Friday.

Ellen
