TAM: The Illuminator documentary

The Illuminator documentary that was shown in the Event Space this past Monday, is the same one that is available for sale in the store and for viewing in the ARC. It is approximately one hour long, and I recommend that you take the time to watch it. A copy of the DVD is now available at the Docent Bookshelf – please only borrow it for a week at a time. Another option is to watch it in the ARC.

Two copies of the The Art of Saint John's Bible: A Reader's Guide to Pentateuch, Psalms, Gospels and Acts (Paperback) by Susan Sink are also at the Docent Bookshelf now. Please only borrow them for one week at a time.

Thank You!

TAM: Chuck Close painting added to Telling Stories

This morning (Monday), James installed our Chuck Close painting "Nostalgia No. 2" in Telling Stories. It's an early work from 1960 when Close was exploring abstract expressionism and before he started doing his photo-based work. It was shown in the Northwest Annual at the Seattle Art Museum that same year. He later gave it to Russell Day, a favorite teacher and mentor at Everett Junior College. Russell and his wife Marjorie donated it to Tacoma Art Museum in 2005.

It's hanging on the same wall as the Steve Davis photos, next to the Robert Colescott.
