TAM: open docent shifts for March

Here is a list of upcoming docent shifts that need an actual docent:

 

MARCH:

• Friday, March 16 from 10-2 or 1-5
• Thursday, March 22 from 10-2 or 1-5
• Friday, March 23 from 10-2 or 1-5
• Friday, March 30 from 1-5
• Saturday, March 31 for the 11 am and 1 pm advertised drop-in tours

 

Also, the following once-every-two-week docent shifts are currently available if you want to trade (or pick up an extra regular shift J):

• Wednesdays from 10-2 (week B – April 4, etc)
• Thursdays from 10-2 or 1-5
• Fridays from 10-2 (2^nd and 4^th of every month)
• Fridays from 1-5 (week A or B)
• Sundays from 12-4 (week A or B – low priority)

TAM: Docent Needed: Saturday, March 31

Can anyone do a docent shift (or trade a shift) anytime on Saturday, March 31?

Saturdays do include tours at 11 am and 1 pm, as advertised.

TAM TOUR URGENT: Saturday, March 17 at 12:30 pm

I am looking for a docent or two to help with a tour on Saturday, March 17 at 12:30 pm.

Margaret Upshaw will also be helping on this tour, which will be split into smaller groups.

 

This tour will be very easy.  The 12:30 pm tour is for a group of 120 Japanese ESL students. This school brings a group to Tacoma Art Museum every year, and they split the 120 students into smaller groups of 30 that rotate through Tacoma Art Museum, Museum of Glass and Washington State History Museum. The group tends to speak very little English, so only the most basic information about Tacoma Art Museum can be relayed – info such as about Dale Chihuly, the basic premise of each exhibition, perhaps basic information about the architecture, about Frida Kahlo, etc. Each group will also spend time in the Open Art Studio – you can end your tour by leading them to the Open Art Studio.

TAM URGENT: 2 Docents Needed for Tour: Friday, March 9 at 1:30 pm

I am still looking for one docents to do a general museum tour on Friday, March 9 at 1:30 pm.

The tour is for a group of 45 seniors from Seattle Elderhostel.  Bev Bright will also be doing the tour

TAM: Frida movie DVD

Margaret Upshaw has graciously lent us her DVD copy of the Frida movie starring Salma Hayek. (This is different than the PBS documentary that we watched in the Event Space.) The extras on the second DVD are supposed to be also very worthwhile and informative.

 

If you would like to borrow this DVD, please sign it out from my desk (not the docent desk/bookshelf). It will be on the shelf above my computer with a sign-out sheet.
