TAM Docents: Fwd: TAM Docents: A new online calendar feature

Hello Docents-

The new on-line calendar is pulling its own weight already. It was brought to my attention that I do not have a docent for this Third Thursday (or any upcoming, for that matter) for the 5 – 8 pm shift. We do advertise a 6 pm tour. If you are able to work this Thursday, August 20th or if you want to take on that shift more permanently, please let me know and I will be in your debt.

Thank you,

-Jana

Hi, Jana.

Everyone may have heard plenty about Nancy Worden by now, but should they be interested, she’s being interviewed this afternoon on KUOW (94.9 FM) at 2:20. I think all of their shows are available on pod cast as well.

Hello Docents-

Thanks to at scores of people more clever than me, we now have the
capability to view the Docent Schedule online:

https://calendars.office.microsoft.com/en-us/pubcal/viewer.aspx?path=/pubcalstorage/v8rcxgyz1187654/Docent_Calendar_Calendar(3).ics

That is a doozy of a link, I know. I will send that long link just
this once so that you can choose to save it; however, I will try to
include it as a hyperlink for your convenience when I send future
docent schedule emails. The beauty of this link is that whenever
changes to the docent schedule get made, I can update it right away so
that you can always see what days are filled and what days still need
a docent. Please let me know if you have any questions - I am learning
this nifty new technology myself but I will try to find out the
answers to any questions I cannot readily answer. I hope you enjoy
this new option!

TAM Docents: September Scheduling

Hello Docents-

First, a couple of notes. I will be gone from August 21 – 31 so please contact Allison Baer at 253.272.4258 x3018 or ABaer@TacomaArtMuseum.org if anything comes up for you during that time. Also, I haven’t heard back from all Tuesday folks regarding scheduling now that the museum will be closed on Tuesdays starting on September 8th (we are still open September 1st).

Some regular shifts that need filled are as follows:

2nd and 4th Wednesdays from 1 – 5 pm (we currently have a 10 am – 2 pm)

3rd Saturdays 11 am – 3 pm

Tacoma Art Museum will now be open on Sundays from 10 am – 5 pm though I was not planning on changing the schedule in any way at this time. I am open to doubling up on shifts or changing shifts to split days (10 am – 2 pm and 1– 5 pm) again if that would work better for any days of the week but I am relying on all of you to let me know how you think the scheduling is going, what works, what doesn’t work, etc.

So, for September, I still need to fill the following shifts:

Thursday, September 3               11 am – 3 pm

Wednesday, September 9            1 – 5 pm

Friday, September 11                 11 am – 3 pm

Saturday, September 19              11 am – 3 pm

Wednesday, September 23          1 – 5 pm

Wednesday, September 30          11 am – 3 pm

Finally, our first docent meeting after the summer break is coming up on Wednesday, September 2 at 10:30 am. You should have all received a training calendar via email by now. If you do not have that email, let me know and I can resend or print you a training calendar. We have a lot of shows to learn for fall but, after that, we get to work on refining for a while until The Secret Language of Animals opens this winter.

Please let me know if you can take on any of the regular shifts listed at the top, one of the shifts for September listed below, or if you have any questions or concerns about upcoming scheduling. Thank you for all that you do for Tacoma Art Museum!

Best regards,

-Jana
