TAM Docents: Joe Feddersen Catalog

Hello Docents-

The ARC is missing its copy of the Joe Feddersen catalog Vital Signs. You will be able to recognize it because it has been cataloged and has a number on its spine. If you have this catalog, please let Jana know. We need it to fill out our end cap in the ARC to highlight this exhibition. This catalog was last seen on the desk in the back room of the ARC.

Thank you

Dear Education folks

Attached is the revised checklist for the Speaking Parts exhibition for when it is moved and downsized next month. I've sorted the works out into what is staying, what is going, and what is new, and noted substitutions, works that are moving to other exhibitions etc. Lots of moving parts here.

Thanks

Margaret

TAM Docents: Updates

Hello Docents-

So much happens in one week! I hope that you are all doing well. I wanted to let you know the various happenings that affect your ability to do your job as docents. Below is an update from Zoe regarding jewelry pieces that have been swapped out in Speaking Parts. Attached are checklists for the Impressionism exhibition and Joe Feddersen (updated). I have made copies of the checklists and they will be available at the docent desk. Remember that this Sunday, September 20 is the lecture by Joe Feddersen at MOG and you will get in free if you tell the front desk that you are TAM Docents. Finally, for those of you who are members of Tacoma Art Museum and want to see lots of Joe Feddersen:

Joe Feddersen in the Hot Shop
Tacoma Art Museum members receive free admission to Museum of Glass
September 16 through 20, 2009

The Museum of Glass opens its doors to Tacoma Art Museum members next week during artist Joe Feddersen's residency in the Hot Shop Amphitheater, MOG's live glassblowing studio. The Hot Shop is open Wednesday through Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm,* and Sunday from 12 to 5 pm. On Sunday, September 20, from 2 to 3 pm, you can meet Joe Feddersen and learn more about his career and inspirations during a lecture and slide presentation. Show your Tacoma Art Museum membership card at the front desk to receive this benefit.

Thank you,

Hello everyone,

We have switched out a work in one of the jewelry cases in Speaking Parts. The Calder loan has ended and that work has been replaced with the following:

2.       Mary Lee Hu

Born Lakewood, Ohio, 1943

#19, circa 1975

Silver

Tacoma Art Museum, Gift of Flora Book, 1998.35

It’s on the top deck of the case.

Just let me know if you have any questions.

-Zoe
