new docent training

Hi Everyone:

This won’t affect your active docent training but I wanted to let you know in case you were planning to come to any of the new docent training. The new docent class, which will be about 10 people, will be meeting on Mondays only, and not on Wednesday evenings. I was planning to offer both of them, but it just worked out that the people who joined the program either preferred Mondays or had a conflict with the Wednesdays altogether.

Please make that change on the calendars I gave you (i.e. delete the evening training for new docents on September 15, 29, October 13, 27, and November 10).

Thanks

Tara

Hi All,

I have purchased Hudson River and Kottler catalogues for both the
Resource Center and the volunteer desk. They are also both now available
in the museum store. I'm not sure if they are out on display yet, but if
they're not, feel free to ask the store staff and they can get it for
you.

Thanks

Tara

textbook

Hi All,

After much negotiation with the publisher I have a final price for the textbook Responding to Art by Robert Bersson. We were able to get the price down to $65, including tax and shipping. I will have the books by September 15, and you can pick them up then, with a $65 check made out to
Tacoma Art Museum. Purchase of the book is optional, but I highly recommend it as I think it will be a very useful reference. It also comes with an excellent CD-ROM that includes a discussion of a number of art techniques and concepts.

Thanks

Tara

Howard Kottler Chronological Bio

Hello fellow docents,

I couldn't find a chronological Howard Kottler bio on the web; so, I
created one from reading "Howard Kottler : Face to Face" by Patricia
Failing - the most comprehensive book on the artist I could find.

(Any errors are mine!)

Sanjeev
