TAM Docents: First Thursday Timetable for June 4

Hello Docents-

For those of you interested and/or already joining me for the First Thursday trip to Seattle next Thursday, June 4th, here is a potential “agenda” and timetable:

Meet at Tacoma Art Museum Security entrance at 4:30 pm and walk together as a group to the bus stop across the street to catch the 594 Seattle Express at 4:50 pm. Get off in Seattle at 4th and Jackson around 6 pm.

Walk up to the Tashiro Kaplan Building. The Tashiro Kaplan building is located between Third Avenue S., S. Washington St. and Prefontaine Place S. in Pioneer Square, downtown Seattle: 306 S Washington St. We will explore the galleries there. On the way back, there is an outdoor art market that is fun to stop in on this time of year and it is also in Pioneer Square.

We will pick from one of the many downtown restaurants for dinner. One possibility could be the Taste Restaurant at SAM. If there is any energy left at this point, SAM is free on First Thursday, or we can catch the bus back to Tacoma from 2nd and University. We will be riding the 594 (or any of the 590 buses) back and they leave from Seattle every ½ hour so the bold may depart at any point to head back to Tacoma.

Bus fares are $3 for the Seattle Express ($1.50 if you are a senior – 65 or older) so have exact change ready or get a bus pass. You will need bus fare for both directions for a total of $6.

Let me know if you have questions, concerns, or if you want to RSVP.

Here is who is joining me so far:

Margaret Upshaw

Randi Kander

Linda Flatley

Gaard Logan

Kara Hefley

Barbara Beaver

Thank you!
