TAM Docents: Tour Today at 11 am, can you help?

Hello Docents-

If you get this in time and you are willing to give a Dale Chihuly: Gifts from the Artist tour at 11 am, please let me know. We have a fellow docent who is out for an emergency family matter and, I understand, about 20 people coming for this public tour today.

Thank you,

-Jana

TAM Docents: January 12 Training

Hello docents-

Thanks to those of you who attended today’s lecture, The History of Japanese in Washington. I thought it was very interesting and I hope you did too. For those of you that missed it, while I didn’t have anyone volunteer to take notes, our speaker Gwen Perkins, provided a bibliography for those wanting to learn more. I will put the extra copies of those in the front of the binder for you to take. I will also put a copy of The History Museum’s magazine Columbia at the docent desk for you to look through. In particular, there is an article on Kenjiro Nomura whose work is in our permanent collection and we saw it on view during the Concise History exhibition.

Take care and keep warm,

-Jana

TAM Docents: Training is still on for today

Hello Docents-

I wanted to let you know that the training is still on for today as I have had inquiry. Please think of your own safety first and if you do not feel you can make it, I understand. Conditions are very clear downtown and I walked in without incident this morning. I have heard tales of other experiences in outlying areas though so, again, use your best judgment for your safety.

Thank you!
