TAM Docents: Impressionism Checklist Update

Hello Docents-

Attached is the updated checklist for the changes made in the Impressionism exhibition. I will have a copy at the docent desk today.

Also, we have a new group of volunteers in the museum and you may have seen some already in the store and working with VS. The Visitor Services volunteers will be invited to attend docent trainings and will likely provide our pool of upcoming docents. I encourage you to introduce yourselves.

Thank you for all that you do for Tacoma Art Museum!

TAM Docents: Training Schedule Change

Hello Docents-

We have quite a treat in store for us! Victoria Adams will be available on Tuesday, July 13 to walk through the gallery and answer questions that you may have. This will be a more intimate opportunity than the July 15 Third Thursday program, though I still encourage you to attend that as well.

On Tuesday, July 13, training will start at 10:30 am. The museum is closed that day, of course, so there should be minimal distraction. Vicki may be available to join us for lunch afterwards, if you are interested in joining us, let me know.

Thank you!

Subject: Works on paper switchouts in Impressionism

Hi all,

Just a heads up that we are going to switch out the works on paper in the Impressionist exhibition in the next week or two. That includes the three prints on the back of the title wall (Renoir, Lautrec, Cassatt), the Buhot just to your right as you enter the gallery, and the Sargent watercolor. Zoe has updated the checklist with information on the new additions (Daubigny, Morisot, Manet, Renoir, Prendergast)

Also, I am working on changing out the Northwest impressionist paintings. The Butler and Abby Hill should stay (we are working on extensions) but the Wire, McKim, and Keller will be changing--not sure about the Gustin at this point. If you have built any tours around any of these works please let me know so I don't take away things you are counting on.

Also FYI, the Degas fan needs to go off view in the near future so that it can rest. I'm also working on a loan to replace that and will keep you updated.

Thanks

Margaret
