TAM Docents: June is a busy month!

Hello Docents-

I did not plan it this way (perhaps the not planning is part of the reason) but we have another June event! I was able to arrange a tour of Chihuly’s Boathouse in Seattle on Wednesday, June 15 from 10:30 am to 12 pm. I need to know:

1)    Who would like to go

2)    Who is willing to drive for a carpool

3)    Whether you would like a group lunch in Seattle afterwards or if you would rather go your own way.

4)    What you might feel about having me try to arrange a tour at SAM of this exhibition in the afternoon: http://www.seattleartmuseum.org/exhibit/exhibitDetail.asp?eventID=16649

Also, so far I haven’t seen much interest in the June 7 get together and I am wondering if the general consensus is that we skip that in light of all of the other events going on. Please let me know your thoughts.

Thank you for all that you do for Tacoma Art Museum!

TAM Docents: Glassblowing experience for you...if you want it

Hello Docents-

I have been able to make arrangements with Tacoma Glassblowing Studio for a true hands-on glassblowing experience for any of you who wish to participate. It will cost $55 per person, provided that we have 6 or more, and you would be responsible for that amount yourselves. The upside is that you will get to choose your own colors and 1 of 9 shapes to create so you can be creative and not just go through the motions. Each person will get up to ½ hour of hands-on time so it is more comprehensive than other experiences we’ve been able to offer in the past. What I need from you is an idea of who would like to participate on Thursday, June 9 from 10 am – 1 pm. Likely, Courtney will be joining you, as only one of us can get away from the Program Planning meeting scheduled for that day, and this is such a cool deal that Courtney wants to do it and she’s my bossJ Please let me know ASAP if you want to participate so that I can officially book that date for our group.

Thank you!
