TAM Docents: Scheduled Tours

Hello Docents-

I sat down with our Director of Marketing, Melissa Traver, today and we plotted out a plan for those scheduled tours I’d emailed you about last week. Sorry I couldn’t ask your preferences on this one, though you do have some time to prepare, but I did assign tour days and times below which are all during your regularly scheduled shifts. We tried to make sure that everyone got a shot to do a tour (tell me if I managed to miss you!). You might notice that many are right around lunch time in hopes that we can entice people to come, or stay, for lunch along with their tour experience, a “package”, if you will. We have gone out three months to test this all out before Rockwell. Your feedback along the way will be very important. I will also want to know if any visitors take you up on the tour, how many attend it, and any other information you are willing to give me. I will ask that you either drop by my desk or send an email with your feedback on the day of the tour, if possible, so that I can record attendance numbers. We will want to determine how successful this targeted approach is and how we might make it better. Thank you all for your willingness to give this a try! New docents -  we will make sure you get some action during Rockwell, as promised at sign-up, and you can always volunteer for other guided tours as they come your way. Also, feel free to attend any of the scheduled tours to see how it is done.

TAM Docents: Need Third Thursday Docent from 5 - 8 pm

Hello Docents-

We have had the Third Thursday slot from 5 – 8 pm recently open up and I am hoping that at least one of you will be willing to fill it. This is a very good slot for one of the new docents too – don’t be shy. Third Thursday evenings are generally VERY busy in the museum but we don’t schedule tours at that time because of the fact that it is so busy. It is more about giving “spotlight” tours and answering questions. If you are game, let me know. We could use 1 to 2 docents during that timeslot.

Thank you,

-Jana
