Haub Family Collection materials

Hello Docents,

Attached are the documents from today’s meeting and the list of all the artists in the Haub Family Collection of Western American Art. There are hard copies of all these documents in the Gates ARC back room with the other docent materials. If the room is locked during your docent shift, please note that you can ask security or Visitor Services to unlock the door for you or to borrow the key that unlocks the room. Just remember that the door needs to be locked after you’re done using the room. If you have any questions, please email me.

All the best,

Docent News

Hello Docents,

This is a reminder that we have docent training tomorrow at 10:30 am. We will be meeting in the Gates Library and then go on a gallery walkthrough of the Haub Family Galleries with Haub Curator Laura Fry. Please let me know if you will not be at tomorrow’s training – if you have not already done so.

This weekend the exhibition Protective Ornament: Contemporary Amulets to Armor opened in the Russell Gallery. Attached to this email is the checklist and wall text for Protective Ornament as well as the list of recent past exhibitions we’ve had at TAM about studio art jewelry. Suzanne Ramljak’s lecture was recorded on Sunday. I’ve asked to have the video ready for the docents in the next week or two. Also, the Museum Store is selling Suzanne’s hardcover book/exhibition catalog titled On Body and Soul for $45; which would provide detailed information on the exhibition, especially if you didn’t attend the lecture on Sunday.

Margaret Bullock informed me that Suzan Robb should be completing her hike in the next week barring major problems and along with that the Makerbot printer will be going back to Makerbot at the end of the month so there won't be any more 3-d printing in the gallery.  Curatorial will be changing that area in the gallery to make up for the printer’s absence.

Last but not least, I would like to have one more docent help lead the Rhodes tour tomorrow. Information is below:

Date and Time: Wednesday, October 22nd at 10:30 am

Thanks!
