Dear Docents,
I write with bittersweet news. Kara Bonavia will be leaving the TAM family at the end of June. She and her husband Adam are relocating and we wish them a wonderful and happy future in their new location.
As many of you remember, Kara started her tenure at TAM as a volunteer docent in 2011 and Administrative Volunteer in 2012. She quickly gained the trust and good will of the docents and staff and joined the education team in 2013 as the Public Programs and Volunteer Coordinator. During the last two years Kara has successfully juggled her two roles of training, managing, and mentoring all our volunteers as well as planning a robust series of lectures and workshops for the public. During this time, Kara increased the number and attendance at our programs and maintained the strength of the volunteer program. She has been an instrumental member of the education team, especially during the opening of the Haub Family Galleries and TAM Studio.
We are grateful that Kara has given us such advance notice of her departure so we can begin planning for the transition. We are in the process of looking at the staffing needs for the department, and plan to recruit a new employee as soon as possible. As we clarify the job description, we will keep you posted on next steps.
I hope you will join me in wishing Kara and her family well. We will celebrate her accomplishments and have a proper send off for her at the end of June.
Best regards,
Samantha
