TAM Docents: Behind the Scenes Tour in March - RSVP

Hello Docents-

If you were planning to attend the behind-the-scenes tour in March, please RSVP soon. I will be sending out the invite below to all volunteers but want to be sure you have the first opportunity to get in on the tour. You are welcome to RSVP to the lunch either way – just be clear in your email what you plan to attend as space will be limited for the tour.

Have you been curious about what goes on behind the scenes at the museum? What are they doing behind those locked doors on the security level? Come find out on Friday, March 12 from 11 am – 12 pm at the Behind-the-Scenes tour with Registrar, Michelle Kinney. For those that are interested, I am hoping to have a lunch somewhere locally following the tour with all who would like to attend. RSVP for the tour and, if you want to go to lunch too, I will tell you where we will be going once I make the reservation (let me know if you have restaurant preferences.) Space is limited for the tour so please respond early.

I also have the emergency procedures training (required) that I will be opening to all volunteers who can attend but you do not need to RSVP as I am assuming you are coming unless you tell me otherwise.

Training Opportunity – On Tuesday, March 23 from 10 am – 12 pm, the Manager of Facilities and Security, Frank Culhane, will be offering training on emergency procedures. This is informative and fun. You can finally see where all of those emergency exits lead to! Please RSVP so that I will know to expect you and I can confirm with you where we will meet.

Thank you,

TAM Docents: Lecture and Walk-through Feb 3

Hello Docents-

Thanks to so many of you for attending Sunday’s lecture. I thought it was interesting and hope you did too. For the upcoming lectures, as they are suggested but not required, if you wish to purchase tickets, you may do so at the student price $5 and I hope you will take advantage.

Attached are the notes that Gaard so graciously took the time to type up and share. I will place a copy in the docent notebook as well.

Thanks for all that you do for Tacoma Art Museum!

-Jana
