From: Angela Hudson

Good morning!

I have attached some information that I hope you find useful.  Please note that when these pages were scanned they were positioned side-by-side and not necessarily related to one another.  I hope this does not confuse you.  Please let me know if you have questions or need clarification and I am happy to help!

I have included the definition of Thinking Routines as well as some routine frameworks you may be able to adapt and incorporate into your tours. There is a handout (summary of slides) on Artful Thinking, based on thinking dispositions (routines), similar to VTS or Visual Thinking Strategies. Lastly, you will find a wonderful paper written by Dave Perkins from Harvard University about the nature of understanding.

Enjoy!

Angela

Hello Docents-

I wanted to let you know about an artist lecture occurring next week. I was blown away by John Grade in an exhibition of his work I saw at Boise Art Museum a few years ago. It looks like he will be talking at Evergreen next week while I am giving a volunteer orientation. If you can go, I would recommend it.
