TAM Docents: Resources for Sight Impaired Visitors

Hello Docents-

Today’s presentation for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing was very informative. I have asked for a copy of the PowerPoint so that you will all have access to that information- but I will not email it as PowerPoints take a lot of memory. Once I receive the PowerPoint, I will print it out and have it available up in the Docent Binder.

Meanwhile, attached is the information I passed out for us to read on sight impaired visitors. Thanks again to Florence for sharing her experience with us in today’s training. I will have some extra copies of this in the Docent Binder. I also encourage you to watch the following YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VaXy7KSEthM  You are welcome to come by my desk and watch it there (you may want to bring head phones as I cannot have the volume too loud) but please make arrangements if you can (if it is off the cuff, I will work with you!). The video is about 10 minutes long.

Our next required training will be at LeRoy Jewelry, 940 Broadway, on April 27 at 10:30 am. I will leave from the Security entrance at 10 am if you would like to join me for the walk over. Otherwise, feel free to meet us there.

Thank you for all that you do for Tacoma Art Museum!

-Jana
