TAM Docents: Student Rate for Know More Art Series in November

Hello Docents-

Despite my deep disappointment in not seeing more of you for today’s great lecture (you missed seeing pieces from the collection brought by Margaret that don’t typically get shown), I have received permission to offer the student rate for the Know More Art series in November.

Know More Art Lecture Series: The Rich Tradition of Mexican Folk Art
Saturdays, November 5 –19, 1 pm
Traditionally, folk art is made by people who have no formal art training and are working with their hands, simple tools, and materials that are available. Mexican Folk Art, rooted in everyday materials, was historically designed out of the desire to make fun and beautiful pieces out of utilitarian ware. In this fall lecture series, join us to learn more about the history and origins of Latin American folk art and view some excellent in-person examples in the exhibition Folk Treasures of Mexico: The Nelson A. Rockefeller Collection from the San Antonio Museum of Art. Cost: $40 for complete series ($25 for members), $15 per individual lecture ($10 for members, $5 for students). Educator clock hours available. Preregistration is recommended.

If you want to attend at the student rate, contact Megan Ristine at 253.272.4258 x3026 or you can go directly to the front desk to purchase. I hope to see you there!
