TAM Docents: Docent Desk Shelf Clean-up
Hello Docents-
I couldn’t help but notice that there don’t seem to be many check-outs from the books available to docents at the docent desk. When I reviewed the books, I also noticed that many of them were not really relevant to research needs you may have in most cases. I took it upon myself to remove the books I didn’t think would really be useful to you again. As you may have another view, I have left said books in 3 stacks on the desk with Post-it notes that say “Docents Review”. If you feel strongly about any of these books, feel free to put a Post-it on it saying “keep” or some such to let me know. Any books we do not keep will go towards the March 2011 book sale we will be having. I will leave those books on the desk through next week, then they become part of the book sale’s inventory (and you can have a chance to own them, should you want to come purchase it at the book sale).
Along these lines, if you feel strongly about having the museum acquire a book we do not already have that could be a valuable docent resource, please do not hesitate to ask at any time. I would be happy to take that into consideration for purchase. In particular, we would want to have books with long shelf-lives in terms of topic, so keep that in mind.
Thank you,
-Jana
