NEW book check-out and Docent Desk rearrangement

The next time you visit the Docent Desk on the Admin Level, you will notice some changes.

  1. Tacoma Art Museum recently purchased some new computers, and all of our old computers are hanging out at the Docent Desk for a short while until they move on again. Books in the overhead shelves are still there, but some other books and binders and files that were on the desk are now located on a bookshelf near the lunch room door. That’s where you will find the Log Binders, docent handouts and books related to our current exhibitions.

  1. From now on, you will be able to check out books that are located at the Docent Desk!
At the very front of the Docent Log Binder, I have added some pages with instructions on how to check out books, and some record sheets where you will write your name and phone number or email, as well as the book’s title and author, the date on which you borrowed the book, and the day on which you expect to return the book. In this way, if someone has a book that you want, you can wait until it is returned or you can call the person and arrange something between yourselves.
This system is obviously an honor system, so please be honorable!

Thanks for your time!
