TAM: Questions from St John's Exhibit at TAM
Some answers from Tim Ternes at Saint John’s – thanks to Elizabeth Walsh (a calligrapher docent).
1) Will this exhibit be touring nationally?
Illuminating the Word: The Saint John’s Bible, has been on national tour since 2005 and will have traveled to nine venues by the time it ends in April of 2009. Tacoma is the eighth venue and the final venue will be the Mobile Museum of Art in Mobile, Alabama. Beginning in February of 2009 and running until mid May, selections from Prophets and Wisdom Books will be on exhibition at the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, Maryland. There are plans to do a capstone tour before all the books are bound, but the details of that exhibition are not available for release at this time. Guests may visit the Bible website (www.saintjohnsbible.org) and click on the link to EXHIBITIONS to find out more details on future exhibitions as they develop.
2) What is the name of the font that was used in the computer mock up of this project?
The name of the FONT used to represent the SCRIPT in planning layout is Sanvito. This is a multiple master typeface which very closely approximates the spacing of the manuscript hand.

Elizabeth,
It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to share the story and details of the project with the docent group. Thank you for allowing me to play a role in your preparations.
My responses to your questions follow:

Dear Tim:
Thank you for your overview presentation of SJB at Tacoma Art Museum. I am one of the calligrapher docents and want to have the answers to our audience questions.
1) Will this exhibit be touring nationally?
I see it goes to Mobile, Alabama next, then there will be another exhibit in Baltimore. Please expand on this.
2) What is the name of the font that was used in the computer mock up of this project?
I thought I had written it down, but can't seem to find it and didn't find it mentioned on the website.
3) And for your interest, our local newspaper, the Olympian did an article last weekend: http://www.theolympian.com/living/story/505005.html
Thus far, the crowds have been in awe! It's going well!!
