TAM: Chihuly's Floats Installation at Tacoma Art Museum

Sorry about the late notice, but Ma Chihuly's Floats are being installed on the Wave today. See details below.

Spend your lunch break at Tacoma Art Museum today to see the re-install of Ma Chihuly’s Floats. The installation process will start around 11 am and is expected to be completed between noon and 1 pm. Visit the Tacoma Art Museum website to see pictures from last year’s installation here: http://www.tacomaartmuseum.org/page.asp?view=4407.

Later tonight, join in a roundtable discussion about provocative art and ideas in museums. Artist Alex Schweder will speak about his work featured in two summer exhibitions: Sparkle Then Fade and the 2007 Neddy Artist Fellowship, which includes Bi-Bardon, a conjoined urinal. Following the talk, a roundtable conversation will examine the role museums play in generating thought-provoking ideas. Invited panelists and visitors will discuss the role museums play in fostering a safe place for dialogue about differing views and ideas.

Just a reminder, every Third Thursday at Tacoma Art Museum offers free museum admission from 10 am to 8 pm.
