TAM: painting class by Becky Frehse

Some of you may remember Becky Frehse from the 2004 Northwest Biennial, in which she was represented. She is teaching a painting class at Tacoma Art Museum in April, and I thought this might interest some of you.

Posed and Un-Posed Portraits: Painting from Photographs
Sunday, April 15
12:30 – 4 pm

Explore the creative process of portrait painting using photographs as source material for your work. After a tour of the portraits in Frida Kahlo: Images of an Icon, spend the afternoon with artist and educator Becky Frehse working with composition, proportions, value, and color to create portraits in collage, gouache, and pastel. Participants bring a sketchbook but all other supplies are provided. Cost for members is $40; non-members, $50. Registration is required. Please call 253.272.4258 x3030 or email education@TacomaArtMuseum.org to enroll.
