FW: Reminder: Training on Wednesday, March 22 at 6:00 pm or Monday, March 27 at 10:30 am

If you are interested in buying the “Responding to Art” textbook, we are selling them for $60 which I believe was the cost for us to get them. Amazon.com sells them (2nd edition with CD) for $78 new.

If you don’t own the “Responding to Art” textbook, I can photocopy chapter 19 for you.

If you want to buy the “Responding to Art” textbook, let me know! (we still have several copies)

Please make sure that you attend the next training session:

Wednesday, March 22 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm

OR

Monday, March 27 from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm

This will be the introduction for Roy Lichtenstein: American Indian Encounters, given by Rock Hushka, in the Event Space.

Previously, I told you that there would be a “research assignment” for this training session but that will not happen. Instead, we will be doing some short readings at the beginning of the training and a short workshop related to the readings.

However, you do have a small homework assignment: in preparation for the Lichtenstein exhibition, please read or revisit:

·        Responding to Art, Chapter 19: The Second Half of the Twentieth Century
(this is from the textbook that was used for the most recent docent training in 2005-06)

Please remember that all docents are expected to attend all training sessions – that means both the Introduction and the Workshop/Walk-through portions for each exhibition. If you can’t attend a training session, please let me know in advance if possible. Otherwise, we will probably be contacting you and sending you a tour outline to complete before touring the exhibition.

Thanks for your time!
