TAM Docents: Surprise Training!

Hello Docents-

As our walk-through of the HIDE/SEEK exhibition did not venture into the George and Mary Davis Gallery which features David Wojnarowicz, I thought we might all benefit from a bit more training by Rock in this area. As he is a very busy man, we settled on Tuesday, March 27 at 3 pm. As the museum isn’t open and Security is high, I would like to meet at the front desk area and proceed up to the gallery together. Sorry for the late notice but I hope that you can make it.

Also, feel free to come with questions or concerns that may have arisen in terms of touring this exhibition so far so that we might ask Rock for his erudite opinions and answers.

Finally, I want to apologize for getting out the Docent Training Calendar so late. What calendar? you may be asking. Well, the one I haven’t yet completed. I am trying to finalize some training dates with Rock for Spring exhibitions and I will get that out as soon as I am able. Meanwhile, I have printed the dates I have confirmed below in hopes that you can mark your calendars and save the dates. I am trying to keep it fairly light on the required trainings during this potentially busy time.

Thank you for all that you do for Tacoma Art Museum!

-Jana

Month of May – Any time you can arrange

During the month of May, pair up with another docent and do a tour – even if it is just for the other docent (act as you would with a visitor). Assess touring technique for peer evaluation. This is also your chance to let me know what you would like more training opportunities in.
