TAM Docent: Training Make Up and other news
Hello Docents-
I wanted to remind all of you that, should you need to miss a required training, we ask that you come on your own time later to meet with a docent who was able to attend and talk over that missed material. This approach can also work well even if you didn't miss the training. I have certainly found that my hearing is selective, as Randi's recently sent out notes prove. She had more material that I missed than what I actually managed to take notes on, I believe.
Also, as we move forward, I am hoping to get some of the trainings video taped. That has been a long time coming! Still, you don't want to rely on that since the museum still doesn't have a recorder but will be borrowing.
At this time, we will still be offering just one training that is combined with a public program. Besides trying to limit after hours activity at the museum that doesn't generate revenue, we are also trying to respect the curator's time by freeing up as much as possible for the many other demands made upon them.
Thank you for your patience and for all that you do for Tacoma Art Museum!
