Dear Jana:

Love that the new "Chihuly's Northwest" exhibit has finally opened. It still takes my breath away when entering the room. There's definitely a WOW factor that surrounds you!!

This morning, since I'm not as familiar with Edward Curtis' whole story, I've been doing some reserach on Edward S. Curtis and the photogravure process. I came across two wonderful links that our docents will surely find helpful:

1) The Smithsonian in Washington DC has a wonderful link on Edward Curtis:

http://www.sil.si.edu/Exhibitions/Curtis/curtis-navigation.htm

2) And this link to The Art of Photogravure is very informative, especially the Photogravure Process with step-by-step illustraions. The site also highlights artists, including Edward S. Curtis, who worked with this photogravure process.

Enjoy!

Elizabeth
